With that being said, it’s time to get our wardrobe in check and that includes nails. Say goodbye to your bright pinks and baby blues and wave hello to warm neutrals, toasty oranges and deep reds.

Keep Them Looking Divine

One of the biggest reservations with spending good money on a manicure or taking the time out to give yourself one is the simple fact of the matter: life sabotages the lifespan of a good-looking hand.

Protect your nails when washing the dishes.
Avoid drying out your cuticles or breaking a perfectly shaped nail by wearing gloves every time you’re about to submerse your hands into some hot water and dish soap. And in general, try to wait at least two to three hours post manicure before putting them under hot water of any sort (yes, that means showers too).
This also goes for any other types of cleaning chemicals. So, if you have a deep clean on the schedule, try to plan it for BEFORE your salon appointment.
Use tools and utensils when you can.
Wear-and-tear is real. So, if you peeling off a label, cracking open a can, twisting in a screw or whatever else your hand could be opting in a tool for, proceed with caution. When you can, protect your nails by using a gadget of some sort to take the impact.
Hydrate and upkeep.
Hydration is key in aspects of life, including your nail life. Keep cuticle oil close or hand lotion in your bag to apply daily. Also, make sure to have a file on hand ( a nice metal one) incase a nail decides to chip out of the blue. And, reapply a fresh coat of top coat polish regularly – every three days or once a week at the least.
