It’s been commonly said that dogs are a “man’s best friend,” but my family took that statement and shook it up a little. At my house we have a few best friends. The Baltierra household is home to two horses, a goat, two black cats and two dogs. They all stay with us either in the house or in our pasture and our barn.
Get To Know Our Girls Cali and Foxy
Cali is our beautiful horse. We got her about five years ago. She’s now 20 years old, almost at her milestone year of 21 and fun. haha.
Foxy is our little pony. We got her four years ago following the birth of Vaeda. She’s about 15-20 years old.
Growing up I always wanted a pony of my own although, my mom couldn’t afford to get me one. We got Foxy for Nova back in 2019 and it was a day we will always remember. The emotional fulfillment that came from being able to give my daughter something we both share a genuine fascination for stays unmatched.
What’s Better Than One Dog? Two
I got Caddy in 2009 after placing mine and Tyler‘s first baby up for adoption. She’s about to be 13 and has been through absolutely everything with me. Having her close always brings me a sense of calmness.
Ace is just 10 months old. He’s our newest baby to the bunch. We just got him during Christmas time.

Shadow is our oldest cat. He’s 4 years old. Our second cat, Salem, is two years old. Being the independent animals they are, the two of them spend their time inside and outside of the house.
